about Lív

Lív may not be the fastest or most luxurious sailboat available, but her design features, such as the center cockpit, contribute to a remarkable level of safety and comfort in turbulent waters. The high freeboard and spacious layout provide ample room, making her feel larger than many 40-foot competitors.

The center cockpit also allows for an expansive captain's berth located at the aft of the boat, enhancing both comfort and utility onboard. A unique aspect of Lív is the presence of mast steps extending to the top of the mast, which facilitate easy, safe, and enjoyable ascents for maintenance or adjustments.

Measuring 12 meters in length overall, Lív stands as an ideal choice for comfortable ocean sailing, with the added advantage of being capable of single-handed operation.

We have planned some major updats on Lív:

Questions:

  • Whilst we bought her in Brighton in the UK, Lív is in now in a Marina in the Netherlands. After we bought her, we sailed her over the english channel so that we can get there easier and faster.

  • chartering a boat is very expencive and you never know what you get. You can also not have your own stuff on board, which means you have to travel with all your gear everytime and you need to buy every single item you need for a trip - like salt or toiletpaper. With our own boat, we can be very spontaneous and always know we have the stuff we need already on board.

  • Not at the moment. When we sailed in the water of the Netherlands for the first time, we fell in love with the conditions and the people there. There is almost always wind to sail and no big waves because you are sailing behind the dam. It’s also not as hot as in the med and there are less other charterboats.

  • The staff of the Marina is checking on her when they had strong winds and we have a camera that we can activate from our phones to look if all is good under deck.
